U.S. Green Building Council LEED Workshop
Looking to prepare for the LEED Green Associate or Accredited Professional Exams? Working on a LEED project? Or just interested in learning more about green buildings? The USGBC Iowa Chapter in cooperation with The University of Iowa will host a facilitator-led full-day workshop entitled, “BD+C 251: Understanding the Building Design + Construction LEED Rating Systems”.
Attendees will gain essential knowledge of the LEED BD+C rating systems, including credit intents, requirements, and referenced standards; synergies among credits; and foundations of the LEED certification process. This course provides a foundation for pursuing the LEED GA and LEED AP BD+C exams. Useful tips for exam preparation and testing will be included.
This course satisfies the eligibility requirement for taking the LEED Green Associate exam.

Lunch, snacks, and refreshments are included in the registration fee. Attendees will receive a packet of presentation slides, exercises, and reference information used during the workshop for use in preparation for the LEED exams.
The LEED Core Concepts Guide and LEED Green Associate Study Guide valued at $155.00 are not typically included with this course, but the Iowa Chapter is providing a discount on these guides when purchased in combination with the workshop. The course facilitator is Michele Halle Stern from the firm HDR Architecture in Chicago. Michele is a USGBC LEED Faculty and LEED Fellow having extensive experience in the field. She is passionate about the outdoors and nature and its connection to the built environment. Michele was the Founding Chair of the USGBC Chicago Chapter and has lead USGBC workshops since 2003.
